An analysis of the total imports by industry sectors in the Scenic Rim Regional Council in 2018/19 shows the three largest industries were:
- Manufacturing ($590 million or 32.6%)
- Financial and Insurance Services ($214 million or 11.8%)
- Health Care and Social Assistance ($199 million or 11.0%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $1,003 million in total or 55.4% of the total imports by industry in the the Scenic Rim Regional Council.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Queensland accounted for 35.1% in Manufacturing; 10.0% in Financial and Insurance Services and 5.1% in Health Care and Social Assistance.
The major differences between total imports by industries of the Scenic Rim Regional Council and Queensland were:
- A larger percentage of total imports by Health Care and Social Assistance (11.0% compared to 5.1%)
- A smaller percentage of total imports by Mining (2.4% compared to 7.0%)
- A smaller percentage of total imports by Manufacturing (32.6% compared to 35.1%)
- A larger percentage of total imports by Financial and Insurance Services (11.8% compared to 10.0%)
