An analysis of the local sales by industry sectors in the Southern Downs Regional Council in 2021/22 shows the three largest industries were:

  • Construction ($722million or 27.2%)
  • Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing ($467million or 17.6%)
  • Manufacturing ($225million or 8.5%)

In combination these three industries accounted for $1,414 million in total or 53.2% of the total local sales by total industry in the the Southern Downs Regional Council.

In comparison, the same 3 industries in Queensland accounted for 20.1% in Construction; 3.0% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing and 9.1% in Manufacturing.

The major differences between local sales by industries of the Southern Downs Regional Council and Queensland were:
