Dominant groups
An analysis of the total exports by industry sectors in Sunshine Coast in 2021/22 shows the three largest industries were:
- Manufacturing (1,300 million or 17.2%)
- Financial and Insurance Services (1,046 million or 13.9%)
- Health Care and Social Assistance (750 million or 10.0%)
In combination these three industries accounted for 3,097 million in total or 41.1% of the total exports by industry in the Sunshine Coast.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Queensland accounted for 15.2% in Manufacturing; 3.3% in Financial and Insurance Services and 4.4% in Health Care and Social Assistance.
The major differences between the total exports by industries of Sunshine Coast and Queensland were:
- A smaller percentage of total exports by Mining (8.8% compared to 31.5%)
- A larger percentage of total exports by Financial and Insurance Services (13.9% compared to 3.3%)
- A larger percentage of total exports by Health Care and Social Assistance (10.0% compared to 4.4%)
- A smaller percentage of total exports by Public Administration and Safety (0.7% compared to 5.3%)
