An analysis of the total exports by industry sectors in Tablelands in 2016/17 shows the three largest industries were:
- Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing ($387 million or 57.3%)
- Manufacturing ($54 million or 8.1%)
- Transport, Postal and Warehousing ($47 million or 7.0%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $489 million in total or 72.3% of the total exports by total industry in Tablelands.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Regional QLD accounted for 10.9% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing; 13.3% in Manufacturing; and 7.0% in Transport, Postal and Warehousing.
The major differences between total exports by industries in Tablelands and Regional QLD were:
- A larger percentage of total exports by Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (57.3% compared to 10.9%)
- A larger percentage of total exports by Education and Training (5.3% compared to 2.7%)
- A smaller percentage of total exports by Mining (5.0% compared to 37.3%)
- A smaller percentage of total exports by Manufacturing (8.1% compared to 13.3%)
The total exports by industries in Tablelands increased by $51.5 million between 2011/12 and 2016/17.
