An analysis of the total imports by industry sectors in Tablelands in 2017/18 shows the three largest industries were:
- Manufacturing ($563 million or 32.6%)
- Financial and Insurance Services ($192 million or 11.1%)
- Wholesale Trade ($116 million or 6.7%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $871 million in total or 50.4% of the total imports by total industry in Tablelands.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in FNQROC accounted for 37.8% in Manufacturing; 11.4% in Financial and Insurance Services; and 5.8% in Wholesale Trade.
The major differences between total imports by industries in Tablelands and FNQROC were:
- A larger percentage of total imports by Accommodation and Food Services (5.3% compared to 3.0%)
- A larger percentage of total imports by Public Administration and Safety (4.5% compared to 2.6%)
- A larger percentage of total imports by Arts and Recreation Services (3.6% compared to 2.1%)
- A smaller percentage of total imports by Manufacturing (32.6% compared to 37.8%)
The total imports by industries in Tablelands increased by $530.7 million between 2012/13 and 2017/18.
The largest changes in the total imports by industries between 2012/13 and 2017/18 in Tablelands were for:
- Manufacturing (+$109 million)
- Financial and Insurance Services (+$81 million)
- Health Care and Social Assistance (+$66 million)
