An analysis of the total imports by industry sectors in Tablelands in 2016/17 shows the three largest industries were:
- Manufacturing ($430 million or 36.1%)
- Financial and Insurance Services ($126 million or 10.6%)
- Wholesale Trade ($92 million or 7.7%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $648 million in total or 54.4% of the total imports by total industry in Tablelands.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Regional QLD accounted for 34.5% in Manufacturing; 10.4% in Financial and Insurance Services; and 4.9% in Wholesale Trade.
The major differences between total imports by industries in Tablelands and Regional QLD were:
- A larger percentage of total imports by Wholesale Trade (7.7% compared to 4.9%)
- A larger percentage of total imports by Manufacturing (36.1% compared to 34.5%)
- A larger percentage of total imports by Public Administration and Safety (6.3% compared to 4.9%)
- A smaller percentage of total imports by Mining (2.0% compared to 5.6%)
The total imports by industries in Tablelands decreased by $.8 million between 2011/12 and 2016/17.
There were no major changes in total imports by industries between 2011/12 and 2016/17 in Tablelands.
