An analysis of the local sales by industry sectors in Tablelands in 2017/18 shows the three largest industries were:
- Construction (352 people or 19.7%)
- Rental, Hiring and Real Estate Services (271 people or 15.2%)
- Health Care and Social Assistance (148 people or 8.3%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $770 million in total or 43.2% of the total local sales by total industry in Tablelands.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Queensland accounted for 19.1% in Construction; 14.9% in Rental, Hiring and Real Estate Services; and 5.4% in Health Care and Social Assistance.
The major differences between local sales by industries in Tablelands and Queensland were:
- A larger percentage of local sales by Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (6.5% compared to 2.1%)
- A larger percentage of local sales by Health Care and Social Assistance (8.3% compared to 5.4%)
- A larger percentage of local sales by Retail Trade (6.6% compared to 4.3%)
- A smaller percentage of local sales by Financial and Insurance Services (3.6% compared to 6.4%)
The total local sales by industry in Tablelands increased by $6.4 million between 2012/13 and 2017/18.
