Dominant groups

An analysis of the total exports by industry sectors in Tasmania in 2021/22 shows the three largest industries were:

  • Manufacturing (4,982 million or 19.8%)
  • Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (4,457 million or 17.7%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (3,513 million or 14.0%)

In combination these three industries accounted for 12,952 million in total or 51.4% of the total exports by industry in the Tasmania.

In comparison, the same 3 industries in Tasmania accounted for 19.8% in Manufacturing; 17.7% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing and 14.0% in Health Care and Social Assistance.

The major differences between the total exports by industries of Tasmania and Tasmania were:
