Analysis of the jobs held by the resident workforce in Toowoomba in 2016 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (10,500 people or 14.7%)
  • Education and Training (7,806 people or 11.0%)
  • Retail Trade (6,756 people or 9.5%)

In combination these three industries employed 25,062 people in total or 35.2% of the total resident workforce.
