Output by industry is a gross measure of the total sales of each industry sector in Toowoomba. It does not measure how productive each industry sector is at producing this output - which is measured by value added.

An analysis of the output by industry sectors in Toowoomba in 2022/23 shows the three largest industries were:
- Construction ($4,097 million or 15.7%)
- Mining ($3,119 million or 11.9%)
- Manufacturing ($2,980 million or 11.4%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $10,196 million in total or 39.1% of the total output by total industry in the Toowoomba.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Queensland accounted for 13.3% in Construction; 13.6% in Mining and 10.4% in Manufacturing.
The major differences between output by industries of Toowoomba and Queensland were:
