An analysis of the total imports by industry sectors in Waverley Council area in 2018/19 shows the three largest industries were:
- Manufacturing ($1,421 million or 30.2%)
- Financial and Insurance Services ($530 million or 11.3%)
- Transport, Postal and Warehousing ($519 million or 11.0%)
