Dominant groups
An analysis of the local sales by industry sectors in the Shire of Chittering in 2022/23 shows the three largest industries were:
- Construction ($143million or 31.2%)
- Mining ($137million or 29.9%)
- Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing ($35million or 7.6%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $316 million in total or 68.8% of the total local sales by total industry in the the Shire of Chittering.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Western Australia accounted for 25.2% in Construction; 11.9% in Mining and 1.7% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing.
The major differences between local sales by industries of the Shire of Chittering and Western Australia were:
