Dominant groups
An analysis of the local sales by industry sectors in the Shire of East Pilbara in 2022/23 shows the three largest industries were:
- Construction ($1,062million or 33.1%)
- Mining ($860million or 26.8%)
- Manufacturing ($267million or 8.3%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $2,189 million in total or 68.3% of the total local sales by total industry in the the Shire of East Pilbara.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Western Australia accounted for 25.2% in Construction; 11.9% in Mining and 5.7% in Manufacturing.
The major differences between local sales by industries of the Shire of East Pilbara and Western Australia were:
- A larger percentage of local sales by Mining (26.8% compared to 11.9%)
- A larger percentage of local sales by Construction (33.1% compared to 25.2%)
