Dominant groups
An analysis of the local sales by industry sectors in the RDA Kimberley in 2021/22 shows the three largest industries were:
- Construction ($323million or 14.3%)
- Health Care and Social Assistance ($232million or 10.3%)
- Mining ($219million or 9.7%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $775 million in total or 34.4% of the total local sales by total industry in the the RDA Kimberley.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Western Australia accounted for 19.6% in Construction; 4.8% in Health Care and Social Assistance and 18.7% in Mining.
The major differences between local sales by industries of the RDA Kimberley and Western Australia were:
- A smaller percentage of local sales by Manufacturing (1.9% compared to 12.0%)
- A smaller percentage of local sales by Mining (9.7% compared to 18.7%)
- A larger percentage of local sales by Public Administration and Safety (8.9% compared to 3.2%)
- A larger percentage of local sales by Health Care and Social Assistance (10.3% compared to 4.8%)

The largest changes in the local sales by industries between 2016/17 and 2021/22 in the RDA Kimberley were for:

- Health Care and Social Assistance (+$37 million)
