An analysis of the local sales by industry sectors in Surat Basin in 2022/23 shows the three largest industries were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance ($1,891million or 8.4%)
  • Manufacturing ($1,665million or 7.4%)

In combination these three industries accounted for $8,772 million in total or 38.9% of the total local sales by total industry in the Surat Basin.

In comparison, the same 3 industries in Queensland accounted for 20.2% in Construction; 7.4% in Health Care and Social Assistance and 7.7% in Manufacturing.

The major differences between local sales by industries of Surat Basin and Queensland were:
