In 2021, there were 1,944 people who caught public transport to work (train, bus, tram or ferry) in the City of Canning, compared with 49,749 who drove in private vehicles (car – as driver, car – as passenger, motorbike, or truck).

Analysis of the method of travel to work in the City of Canning in 2021 compared to the Western Australia workforce within the City of Canning shows that 3.2% used public transport, while 81.4% used a private vehicle, compared with 7.4% and 68.1% respectively in Western Australia.
