In 2021, there were 307 people who caught public transport to work (train, bus, tram or ferry) in the Toowoomba Regional Council, compared with 59,945 who drove in private vehicles (car – as driver, car – as passenger, motorbike, or truck).

Analysis of the method of travel to work in the Toowoomba Regional Council in 2021 compared to the Queensland workforce within the Toowoomba Regional Council shows that 0.4% used public transport, while 77.0% used a private vehicle, compared with 3.9% and 66.3% respectively in Queensland.
