An analysis of the local sales by industry sectors in Dungog Shire in 2022/23 shows the three largest industries were:
- Construction ($157million or 34.8%)
- Professional, Scientific and Technical Services ($30million or 6.7%)
- Health Care and Social Assistance ($29million or 6.3%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $216 million in total or 47.8% of the total local sales by total industry in the Dungog Shire.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in New South Wales accounted for 21.4% in Construction; 9.4% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services and 6.6% in Health Care and Social Assistance.
