An analysis of the output by industry sectors in King Island Council area in 2022/23 shows the three largest industries were:
- Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing ($95 million or 36.7%)
- Transport, Postal and Warehousing ($37 million or 14.4%)
- Manufacturing ($27 million or 10.5%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $158 million in total or 61.6% of the total output by total industry in the King Island Council area.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Tasmania accounted for 7.7% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing; 8.2% in Transport, Postal and Warehousing and 10.5% in Manufacturing.
