Dominant groups

An analysis of the total exports by industry sectors in Western Downs Regional Council in 2021/22 shows the three largest industries were:

  • Mining (4,640 million or 69.0%)
  • Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (1,348 million or 20.1%)
  • Electricity, Gas, Water and Waste Services (336 million or 5.0%)

In combination these three industries accounted for 6,324 million in total or 94.1% of the total exports by industry in the Western Downs Regional Council.

In comparison, the same 3 industries in Queensland accounted for 31.5% in Mining; 7.8% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing and 3.5% in Electricity, Gas, Water and Waste Services.
