Dominant groups
An analysis of the local sales by industry sectors in the Shire of Harvey in 2021/22 shows the three largest industries were:
- Mining ($326million or 20.6%)
- Construction ($284million or 18.0%)
- Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing ($215million or 13.6%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $826 million in total or 52.2% of the total local sales by total industry in the the Shire of Harvey.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Western Australia accounted for 18.7% in Mining; 19.6% in Construction and 2.4% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing.
The major differences between local sales by industries of the Shire of Harvey and Western Australia were:
- A larger percentage of local sales by Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (13.6% compared to 2.4%)
