Agriculture value data should be viewed in conjunction with the Industry Sector Analysis page for the Agriculture sector, which has modelled estimates of the size of the industry on an annual basis. The Employment Locations page will show where agricultural activity is taking place and the Workforce Profiles section will reveal the characteristics of agricultural workers.

Data source

Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) - Value of Agricultural Commodities Produce 2020-21

Please Note - the ABS has suppressed some agriculture commodities estimates to limit the identification of agricultural businesses in the Agriculture Census for 2021. As a result, some areas may be missing data. Geographies in South Australian and Western Australian are the most significantly affected. Some potential issues:

  • The value of agriculture may be suppressed for some commodities in your region.
  • The total value of agriculture commodities may be incorrect and will not match the summation of individual agricultural commodities.
  • The total value of agriculture commodities for the state may be incorrect.

Caution is therefore required when interpreting agricultural production values at the LGA level. Get in touch with us at info@id.com.au if you wish to learn more.
