Dominant groups
An analysis of the total exports by industry sectors in Northern Midlands Council area in 2021/22 shows the three largest industries were:
- Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (305 million or 33.7%)
- Manufacturing (233 million or 25.7%)
- Transport, Postal and Warehousing (188 million or 20.8%)
In combination these three industries accounted for 726 million in total or 80.2% of the total exports by industry in the Northern Midlands Council area.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Tasmania accounted for 14.1% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing; 17.5% in Manufacturing and 10.6% in Transport, Postal and Warehousing.
The major differences between the total exports by industries of Northern Midlands Council area and Tasmania were:
