An analysis of the total imports by industry sectors in Northern Midlands Council area in 2022/23 shows the three largest industries were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance ($138 million or 10.2%)
  • Financial and Insurance Services ($137 million or 10.1%)

In combination these three industries accounted for $649 million in total or 47.7% of the total imports by industry in the Northern Midlands Council area.

In comparison, the same 3 industries in Tasmania accounted for 28.8% in Manufacturing; 8.5% in Health Care and Social Assistance and 7.1% in Financial and Insurance Services.
