In 2021, there were 2,695 people who caught public transport to work (train, bus, tram or ferry) in the City of Whitehorse, compared with 38,634 who drove in private vehicles (car – as driver, car – as passenger, motorbike, or truck).

Analysis of the method of travel to work in the City of Whitehorse in 2021 compared to the Victoria workforce within the City of Whitehorse shows that 3.6% used public transport, while 51.8% used a private vehicle, compared with 4.4% and 54.5% respectively in Victoria.
