An analysis of the total imports by industry sectors in Balonne Shire in 2018/19 shows the three largest industries were:
- Manufacturing ($144 million or 31.5%)
- Financial and Insurance Services ($46 million or 9.9%)
- Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing ($34 million or 7.3%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $223 million in total or 48.7% of the total imports by total industry in the Balonne Shire.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Queensland accounted for 37.3% in Manufacturing; 9.1% in Financial and Insurance Services; and 3.5% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing.
The major differences between total imports by industries in the Balonne Shire and Queensland were:
- A larger percentage of total imports by Accommodation and Food Services (6.9% compared to 2.9%)
- A larger percentage of total imports by Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (7.3% compared to 3.5%)
