Output by industry is a gross measure of the total sales of each industry sector in Central Coast Council area. It does not measure how productive each industry sector is at producing this output - which is measured by value added.

An analysis of the output by industry sectors in Central Coast Council area in 2022/23 shows the three largest industries were:
- Construction ($5,020 million or 15.6%)
- Manufacturing ($4,148 million or 12.9%)
- Health Care and Social Assistance ($3,510 million or 10.9%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $12,678 million in total or 39.3% of the total output by total industry in the Central Coast Council area.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in New South Wales accounted for 13.4% in Construction; 9.5% in Manufacturing and 5.7% in Health Care and Social Assistance.
