Dominant groups

An analysis of the total exports by industry sectors in the Federation Council area in 2018/19 shows the three largest industries were:

  • Manufacturing (325 million or 49.7%)
  • Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (213 million or 32.7%)
  • Transport, Postal and Warehousing (31 million or 4.8%)

In combination these three industries accounted for 569 million in total or 87.3% of the total exports by industry in the the Federation Council area.

In comparison, the same 3 industries in NSW accounted for 15.7% in Manufacturing; 3.3% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing and 8.2% in Transport, Postal and Warehousing.

The major differences between the total exports by industries of the Federation Council area and NSW were:

  • A larger percentage of total exports by Manufacturing (49.7% compared to 15.7%)
  • A larger percentage of total exports by Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (32.7% compared to 3.3%)
