Dominant groups

An analysis of the total imports by industry sectors in the Hilltops Council area in 2021/22 shows the three largest industries were:

  • Manufacturing ($346 million or 29.0%)
  • Financial and Insurance Services ($149 million or 12.5%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance ($98 million or 8.2%)

In combination these three industries accounted for $593 million in total or 49.7% of the total imports by industry in the the Hilltops Council area.

In comparison, the same 3 industries in NSW accounted for 33.6% in Manufacturing; 9.6% in Financial and Insurance Services and 4.9% in Health Care and Social Assistance.

The major differences between total imports by industries of the Hilltops Council area and NSW were:
