An analysis of the local sales by industry sectors in the RDA Murraylands and Riverland region in 2018/19 shows the three largest industries were:
- Construction ($1,256million or 28.6%)
- Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing ($506million or 11.5%)
- Health Care and Social Assistance ($368million or 8.4%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $2,130 million in total or 48.5% of the total local sales by total industry in the the RDA Murraylands and Riverland region.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in South Australia accounted for 22.9% in Construction; 2.1% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing and 7.4% in Health Care and Social Assistance.
The major differences between local sales by industries of the RDA Murraylands and Riverland region and South Australia were:
- A larger percentage of local sales by Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (11.5% compared to 2.1%)
- A larger percentage of local sales by Construction (28.6% compared to 22.9%)
