Analysis of the jobs held by the resident workforce in Hobart City in 2021shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (5,210 people or 18.1%)
  • Education and Training (3,774 people or 13.1%)
  • Accommodation and Food Services (3,004 people or 10.4%)

In combination these three industries employed 11,988 people in total or 41.7% of the total resident workforce.

In comparison, Tasmania employed 16.4% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 9.4% in Education and Training and 7.6% in Accommodation and Food Services.
