The City of Wanneroo is located in Perth's north-eastern suburbs. The City encompasses a total land area of about 685 square kilometres, and features coastal plains, wetlands, market gardens, bushland and wineries. The City is a predominantly rural area, with rapidly expanding residential areas and some commercial and industrial land uses. The City of Wanneroo is one of the fastest growing local government areas in Australia. Most of the rural areas are in the north and east, with land used mainly for horticulture, agriculture, quarrying and natural heritage areas, as well as semi-rural and rural-residential living.
