Redland City


Redland City is located in south-east Queensland. Redland City encompasses a total land area of about 537 square kilometres, and features islands, coastal areas, bushland, national parks and waterways. The City is a growing residential and holiday area, with substantial rural, rural-residential, conservation and parkland areas, and pockets of industrial and commercial land use. The southern areas of the City are more rural and rural-residential in nature, with rural land used largely for farming and agriculture.

The key employment sectors include retail, health, manufacturing and education. Major retail centres include Capalaba Central, Capalaba Park, Capalaba Town Centre, Cleveland Town Centre, Stockland Cleveland, Town Centre at Victoria Point, Victoria Point and Victoria Point Lakeside, with many other significant centres (Alexandra Hills, Bayview Village, Birkdale Fair, Birkdale Gardens, Kos Village and Redland Bay Village). Redland features a public and a private hospital (Redland and Mater Private Redland). The main industrial areas are located in Capalaba, Cleveland and Thorneside, with sand mining on North Stradbroke Island. Redland features one tertiary institution (Metropolitan South Institute of TAFE) and a number of public and private schools.
