Dominant groups

An analysis of the total exports by industry sectors in Rockhampton Regional Council area in 2020/21 shows the three largest industries were:

  • Electricity, Gas, Water and Waste Services (796 million or 20.6%)
  • Manufacturing (698 million or 18.0%)
  • Mining (666 million or 17.2%)

In combination these three industries accounted for 2,161 million in total or 55.8% of the total exports by industry in the Rockhampton Regional Council area.

In comparison, the same 3 industries in Queensland accounted for 4.5% in Electricity, Gas, Water and Waste Services; 16.1% in Manufacturing and 28.6% in Mining.
