Dominant groups
An analysis of the total imports by industry sectors in Rockhampton Regional Council area in 2022/23 shows the three largest industries were:
- Manufacturing ($1,398 million or 32.5%)
- Financial and Insurance Services ($563 million or 13.1%)
- Professional, Scientific and Technical Services ($412 million or 9.6%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $2,373 million in total or 55.1% of the total imports by industry in the Rockhampton Regional Council area.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Queensland accounted for 33.3% in Manufacturing; 8.3% in Financial and Insurance Services and 7.7% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services.
The major differences between total imports by industries of Rockhampton Regional Council area and Queensland were:
