Dominant groups
An analysis of the local sales by industry sectors in Rockhampton Regional Council area in 2022/23 shows the three largest industries were:
- Construction ($1,155million or 16.1%)
- Electricity, Gas, Water and Waste Services ($793million or 11.1%)
- Health Care and Social Assistance ($745million or 10.4%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $2,693 million in total or 37.6% of the total local sales by total industry in the Rockhampton Regional Council area.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Queensland accounted for 20.2% in Construction; 4.1% in Electricity, Gas, Water and Waste Services and 7.4% in Health Care and Social Assistance.
