An analysis of the local sales by industry sectors in Limestone Coast region in 2017/18 shows the three largest industries were:
- Construction (544 people or 14.8%)
- Rental, Hiring and Real Estate Services (393 people or 10.7%)
- Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (379 people or 10.3%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $1,316 million in total or 35.7% of the total local sales by total industry in the Limestone Coast region.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in South Australia accounted for 20.9% in Construction; 13.8% in Rental, Hiring and Real Estate Services; and 2.3% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing.
The major differences between local sales by industries in the Limestone Coast region and South Australia were:
- A larger percentage of local sales by Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (10.3% compared to 2.3%)
- A smaller percentage of local sales by Construction (14.8% compared to 20.9%)
- A smaller percentage of local sales by Rental, Hiring and Real Estate Services (10.7% compared to 13.8%)
- A smaller percentage of local sales by Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (3.3% compared to 6.2%)
