An analysis of the local sales by industry sectors in Maranoa Regional Council in 2016/17 shows the three largest industries were:
- Construction (322 people or 26.2%)
- Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (113 people or 9.2%)
- Electricity, Gas, Water and Waste Services (97 people or 7.8%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $532 million in total or 43.2% of the total local sales by total industry in the Maranoa Regional Council.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Queensland accounted for 19.1% in Construction; 2.7% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing; and 3.5% in Electricity, Gas, Water and Waste Services.
