Analysis of the fields of qualifications of the All industries shows that the three largest fields of qualification were:

  • Management and Commerce (10,411 people or 12.0%)
  • Engineering and Related Technologies (9,525 people or 11.0%)
  • Health (9,190 people or 10.6%)

In combination these three fields accounted for 29,126 people in total or33.5% of All industries.

In comparison, Queensland employed 14.7% in Management and Commerce; 11.0% in Engineering and Related Technologies and 8.9% in Health.

The major differences between the fields of qualifications of the workforce in Townsville City Council and Queensland were:
