Dominant groups
An analysis of the total exports by industry sectors in Gold Coast City in 2021/22 shows the three largest industries were:
- Manufacturing (3,550 million or 23.4%)
- Retail Trade (1,477 million or 9.7%)
- Accommodation and Food Services (1,434 million or 9.5%)
In combination these three industries accounted for 6,460 million in total or 42.6% of the total exports by industry in the Gold Coast City.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Queensland accounted for 15.2% in Manufacturing; 2.3% in Retail Trade and 1.9% in Accommodation and Food Services.
The major differences between the total exports by industries of Gold Coast City and Queensland were:
- A smaller percentage of total exports by Mining (6.5% compared to 31.5%)
- A larger percentage of total exports by Manufacturing (23.4% compared to 15.2%)
- A larger percentage of total exports by Accommodation and Food Services (9.5% compared to 1.9%)
