Dominant groups
Analysis of the resident workers (All industries) age structure of the Northern Tasmania Region in 2016 compared to Tasmania shows that there was a lower proportion of persons in the younger age groups (15 to 44 years) as well as a higher proportion of persons in the older age groups (45 years and over).
Overall, 52.1% of the resident workers was aged under 45 years, compared to 53.4% for Tasmania. 47.9% were aged 45 years and over, compared to 46.6% for Tasmania.
