An analysis of the total exports by industry sectors in Ballina Shire in 2018/19 shows the three largest industries were:

  • Manufacturing (142 million or 20.6%)
  • Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (120 million or 17.4%)
  • Arts and Recreation Services (61 million or 8.8%)

In combination these three industries accounted for 323 million in total or 46.8% of the total exports by industry in the Ballina Shire.

In comparison, the same 3 industries in New South Wales accounted for 15.7% in Manufacturing; 3.3% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing and 1.4% in Arts and Recreation Services.
