Analysis of the jobs held by the resident workforce in Ballina Shire in 2016 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (2,954 people or 16.9%)
  • Retail Trade (2,032 people or 11.6%)
  • Education and Training (1,940 people or 11.1%)
