Dominant groups

An analysis of the total exports by industry sectors in the RDA Darling Downs and South West Region in 2021/22 shows the three largest industries were:

  • Mining (7,099 million or 38.5%)
  • Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (4,963 million or 26.9%)
  • Manufacturing (2,508 million or 13.6%)

In combination these three industries accounted for 14,570 million in total or 79.0% of the total exports by industry in the the RDA Darling Downs and South West Region.

In comparison, the same 3 industries in Queensland accounted for 22.7% in Mining; 9.4% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing and 16.5% in Manufacturing.

The major differences between the total exports by industries of the RDA Darling Downs and South West Region and Queensland were:
