Dominant groups

An analysis of the total exports by industry sectors in the RDA Darling Downs and South West Region in 2021/22 shows the three largest industries were:

  • Mining (9,839 million or 44.3%)
  • Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (5,904 million or 26.6%)
  • Manufacturing (2,200 million or 9.9%)

In combination these three industries accounted for 17,943 million in total or 80.9% of the total exports by industry in the the RDA Darling Downs and South West Region.

In comparison, the same 3 industries in Queensland accounted for 31.5% in Mining; 7.8% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing and 15.2% in Manufacturing.

The major differences between the total exports by industries of the RDA Darling Downs and South West Region and Queensland were:
