Dominant groups

An analysis of the total imports by industry sectors in the RDA Darling Downs and South West Region in 2021/22 shows the three largest industries were:

  • Manufacturing ($5,736 million or 32.0%)
  • Financial and Insurance Services ($2,477 million or 13.8%)
  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services ($1,896 million or 10.6%)

In combination these three industries accounted for $10,109 million in total or 56.4% of the total imports by industry in the the RDA Darling Downs and South West Region.

In comparison, the same 3 industries in Queensland accounted for 34.9% in Manufacturing; 9.7% in Financial and Insurance Services and 7.7% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services.
