Dominant groups

An analysis of the total imports by industry sectors in the RDA Darling Downs and South West Region in 2022/23 shows the three largest industries were:

  • Manufacturing ($6,258 million or 28.1%)
  • Mining ($2,950 million or 13.2%)
  • Financial and Insurance Services ($2,288 million or 10.3%)

In combination these three industries accounted for $11,496 million in total or 51.6% of the total imports by industry in the the RDA Darling Downs and South West Region.

In comparison, the same 3 industries in Queensland accounted for 33.3% in Manufacturing; 9.1% in Mining and 8.3% in Financial and Insurance Services.
