An analysis of the local sales by industry sectors in the Inner West Council area in 2022/23 shows the three largest industries were:
- Construction ($4,529million or 26.6%)
- Professional, Scientific and Technical Services ($1,555million or 9.1%)
- Rental, Hiring and Real Estate Services ($1,338million or 7.9%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $7,423 million in total or 43.7% of the total local sales by total industry in the the Inner West Council area.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in New South Wales accounted for 21.4% in Construction; 9.5% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services and 9.1% in Rental, Hiring and Real Estate Services.
The major differences between local sales by industries of the Inner West Council area and New South Wales were:
