The main industrial areas in the City are located in the suburbs of Bankstown, Bankstown Aerodrome, Campsie, Chester Hill, Chullora, Condell Park, Greenacre, Kingsgrove, Lakemba, Milperra, Padstow, Regents Park, Revesby, Riverwood, Roselands and Sefton. The main retail centres are the Bankstown CBD, Bankstown Central Shopping Centre and Roselands Shopping Centre. Smaller commercial areas include Belfield Plaza Shopping Centre, Chester Square Shopping Centre, Chullora Marketplace, Padstow Shopping Centre, Revesby Village Centre, retail areas along Beamish Street in Campsie, Burwood Road in Belmore, Haldon Street in Lakemba, Homer Street in Earlwood, Punchbowl Road in Punchbowl and Waterloo Road in Greenacre, and small retail areas around the railway stations. Bulky goods shopping is located at Home Focus Bankstown. Health care facilities include Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital and Canterbury Hospital, the Tresillian Centre Canterbury and numerous aged care places. Educational facilities are provided at TAFE NSW South Western Sydney Institute (Bankstown and Padstow Colleges and Lidcombe College Chullora Campus), Western Sydney University (Bankstown Campus) and numerous primary and secondary schools.
